General Questions

What services does Wake Cumberland Watersports offer?
We provide custom marine upholstery, marine canvas fabrication, custom boat flooring, pontoon upgrades, sunshades, fishing-boat products, Jet Ski flooring kits, truck step flooring kits, towers, diving-board products, Sidekick Concepts products and other marine services. Every boat—and every project—is a little different. If you don't see exactly what you're looking for listed here, just reach out! We're always happy to discuss your project, explore your options and help find the right solution for your boat.

What types of boats do you work on?
We work on most types of recreational and commercial boats, including houseboats, pontoons, wake boats, fishing and bass boats, cruisers, yachts, runabouts, center consoles, jet boats and personal watercraft. Not sure whether we can help with yours? Send us the year, make, model, location and a few photos, and we'll be happy to take a look.

What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve boat owners throughout Kentucky and Tennessee, including Lake Cumberland, Dale Hollow Lake, Green River Lake, Laurel Lake, Herrington Lake, Old Hickory Lake, Barren River Lake, Tellico Lake, Fort Loudoun Lake, Norris Lake, Watts Bar Lake, Cherokee Lake, Douglas Lake and Center Hill Lake. Located outside these areas? Reach out with your boat's location—we may still be able to help!

Do you travel to marinas or private docks?
Yes! Many measuring, scanning and installation appointments can be completed at marinas or private docks. Availability and any travel charges depend on the boat's location, access, project size and service needed. Send us the location and project details, and we'll help determine the easiest option.

Can you work on a boat while it is in the water?
Some measuring, scanning and installation work can be completed while your boat is docked. Other projects may require it to be trailered, hauled out or brought to our shop so our team can work safely and achieve the best result. We'll review your project with you and explain exactly what is needed before scheduling.

Do I need to bring my boat to your shop?
Not always! The best location depends on the service, boat size, marina rules, weather and amount of work involved. After reviewing your project, we'll let you know whether we can complete the work on-site or whether the boat—or just its removable pieces—will need to come to our shop.

How do I request an Estimate?
The easiest way to get started is to complete our Request an Estimate form. Include your name, phone number, email, boat year, make and model, boat location and the areas you would like upgraded. Because the form does not currently accept photo uploads, please text your photos and any additional details to 606-425-5053 after submitting it. You could also email those to info@wakecumberlandwatersports.com - whichever works best for you! You may also text/email us the complete project information if that is easier. The more details we have, the better we can understand your project and prepare a helpful initial estimate.

What should I include with my estimate request?
Please send the boat's year, make, model and location; photos of the entire boat and close-ups of the areas involved; a description of the work; preferred colors or materials; and any deadline you are working toward. For flooring, let us know whether you want the swim platform, cockpit, bow, full boat or individual areas estimated. Our Request an Estimate form will collect most of the basic information. Since photos cannot currently be attached to the form, please text/email them—and anything else you'd like us to know—to 606-425-5053 / info@wakecumberlandwatersports.com. We're happy to help if you aren't sure what information to send.

Is there a charge for measuring, scanning or creating a custom layout?
Measuring, digital scanning, templating and design needs vary from project to project. We'll explain any applicable charges in your estimate or project documents before work begins, so you'll know what to expect.

How long does it take to receive an estimate?
We work to provide estimates as quickly as possible. Timing depends on the project and whether we already have enough information or need to inspect, measure or scan the boat. A simple repair or product with an existing layout may be faster than a detailed custom project. Please keep in mind that the initial estimate is based on what we can determine at the beginning; the final project price may change after the boat and full scope have been reviewed. If we need anything else from you, we'll reach out.

How far in advance should I schedule?
We recommend reaching out as early as possible, especially if you'd like your boat ready for boating season, a vacation or a major lake event. Spring and early summer schedules can fill quickly, and custom materials may have separate production lead times. The sooner we know your goal date, the better we can help you plan.

How long will my project take?
Project length depends on the scope, material availability, design approvals, weather, boat access and our production schedule. After we evaluate your project, we'll give you the best timeline available and keep you informed if a scope change or unexpected condition affects it.

Can you complete several upgrades at the same time?
Often, yes! Flooring, upholstery, canvas and accessory work can sometimes be coordinated as one larger project. This can create a more cohesive finished look and may reduce repeat transportation or access appointments. Let us know everything you're considering, and we'll help you build the best plan around each department's production schedule.

Do you offer financing?
Yes, financing options are available through Affirm.

What deposit is required?
Custom projects generally require signed project documents and a non-refundable deposit before measuring, design, material ordering or production begins. Your deposit is applied directly toward the total cost of your project—it is not an additional fee. The required deposit and remaining payment schedule will be clearly listed in your written estimate and contract before you move forward.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, as well as cash and checks. Certain credit-card fees may apply. If you have a question about payment options, just contact our office—we'll be glad to help.

Can the final price differ from the original estimate?
Yes. An initial estimate is based on the information available at the beginning of the project. Pricing may change after the boat is measured or scanned, if hidden damage or additional preparation is discovered, or if you add, remove or change materials or project areas. If anything affects the price, we'll communicate it with you before completing additional work—no surprises.

Do you offer warranties?
Yes. Custom-installed flooring options shown on our site include a five-year manufacturer warranty and a one-year installation warranty. Warranty terms for canvas, upholstery, accessories and other products vary by manufacturer and project and will be provided with your agreement.

Do you warranty work installed by another company?
Our installation warranty cannot cover another company's workmanship, but we're still happy to take a look. We can inspect the problem, discuss whether repair or replacement is possible and provide a separate estimate for any work we may be able to complete. That new work would be covered by the terms provided for that project.

Can you help me choose the right option?
Absolutely! You don't have to know exactly what you need before contacting us. We'll walk you through the materials, appearance, comfort, maintenance, installation options and budget considerations so you can feel confident choosing the right solution for your boat.

Care, Maintenance and Warranty Questions

How can I prevent mold and mildew?
Keep the boat clean, dry and ventilated; correct leaks and drainage problems; avoid storing damp canvas or cushions; and use fitted covers properly. Even mildew-resistant materials need airflow and routine care in humid lake environments.

Which cleaners should I avoid?
Avoid harsh solvents, gasoline, acetone, abrasive powders, stiff metal brushes and unapproved bleach or degreaser mixtures. Always follow the product manufacturer's instructions and test a cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area first. Not sure what to use? Contact us—we'll be happy to recommend the best cleaner for your product.

How should I prepare custom products for winter?
Clean and completely dry flooring, upholstery and canvas before storage. Remove loose items, support covers to prevent water or snow pooling, maintain ventilation and follow winterization directions for the boat and installed accessories.

What should I do if something is damaged?
Take a few clear photos and contact us as soon as possible with your name, invoice or project information, when the issue appeared and how the product has been used and maintained. Please avoid glue, solvents or an improvised repair before we review it, unless something must be done immediately to prevent further damage. We'll take a look and help you determine the next step.

Can the wrong cleaner affect my warranty?
Yes. Damage caused by unapproved chemicals, pressure, abrasion, neglect or improper maintenance may not qualify for warranty coverage. Follow the written care instructions for each material.

How often should canvas be retreated?
Retreatment depends on the specific fabric, cleaning history and exposure. If water stops beading or the fabric has been deep-cleaned, consult the manufacturer's care guidance or contact us before applying a treatment.

Should cushions and canvas be removed for storage?
When practical, removable cushions and canvas should be cleaned, fully dried and stored in a dry, ventilated location. If they remain on the boat, provide airflow and prevent trapped moisture and standing water.
